International and Local Food

International food are well-known and popular food all around the world, these are food of a specific country being prepared in other countries too, and are seen as one of the best dishes in the world. International foods are highly rated and consumed in most countries. International foods are also called Global Food.These kind of food are also seen as local food but have been introduced to other countries, become their main and national dish. In our countries today, there are some restaurants that do prepare other country local dishes, this also fosters culture and diversity. These foods also stand as a medium to help people understand the history behind the preparation of that cuisine, it also helps for better understanding of their culture as well. International foods also help in the fame and popularity of a particular country, it also gives room for tourism in which people will want to tour to different countries just to taste their special delicacy.

 Italian foods are the best ecstatic cuisine in the world, highly rated, most consumed foods. Common Italian foods are: pasta, pizza (these are  the highly consumed foods, both are made from flour). Mexican too is also known for their spicy and tasty cuisine, their most popular dish is Tacos. International foods have been passed to various countries and generations in the world exposing the knowledge and recipe to the preparation of the food and also giving respect to these countries.

 

    Though there are various good cuisines from different countries which are tasty but we have the best top ten of them all, which are :

Local Food: These are food commonly prepared by a particular ethnic, group of people or a particular person, which is normally consumed at that ethnicity alone. Local foods are grown in their various locality, mostly seen as natural and organic foods. Local foods are not processed neither do they possess any artificial ingredients in it. Local foods are well harvested, containing pronounced nutrients. They are very healthy and helps to build up the human body. Local foods are fresh from the root and can be gotten around you, it doesn’t need to travel miles or been shipped to any required destinations. Local food is highly beneficial to the economy, in which that particular locality tend to work more on the agricultural sector than spend on shipping foods to them, it helps save the economy of that country. Local foods are well planted, and harvested when ripped , they are not forced. There are various top local foods:

Differences between international and local food

  1. Local food helps stabilize the economy of a country, because they grow their foods which decreases inflation of the economy of the country. International food involves high shipping and transportation of these food from one country to another which is very costly.
  2. Local food are fresh and well harvested, they contain good nutrients that helps the human body. International food are processed, canned, these food happen to have been prepared and kept for a very long time with use of artificial flavor and preservatives.
  3. Local food is always available at all times because it is grown at a particular country, they don’t have to wait for their food to be transported to them.
  4. International food brings togetherness between different countries through their food, it gives people the privilege to know more about their history and their culture. It also develops the tourism sector in that particular country. Local food limits food history and so on, because it only circulate in one particular ethnicity, their knowledge and history is not been shared.
  5. Local food is cheap and affordable, while international food is mostly costly due to their high transportation costs and so on.
  6. Local food increases the agricultural sector in an ethnicity, in which it inculcates the habit in every individual to farm and harvest their crops all by themselves, saving expense and improving the agricultural market. International food decreases the agricultural sector in a country in which all they do is to buy foreign food than work for their own foods.
  7. International food brings wealth to the country that exports their food, through payment of that food.


We have learnt about international and local food, and its differences. In our next chapter we are going to be stressing more on the different international foods.
